Some interesting facts have emerged about this item ... thanks to Lisa Sten
Who is completing a Doctorate on the subject of chaplin and has a web site about the man CLICK HERE.
She has an identical item in her collection.
It is thought that Carney has written both names on the photo in order to identify chaplin out of costume.
Lime trees are in the background which were grown in his Studio and this pose is typical. The item in Lisa's collection is dated 1921 and earmarked Los Angeles.

Please note this is not an authentic Chaplin signature??
